On April 17, the Young Learners Resource Center opened at American Corner. The aim of the new center is to provide English language materials for parents and teachers, especially for elementary school English teachers.
The Center provides teachers with an opportunity to improve their teaching methodologies and curricula for teaching English to young learners. The collection includes books on teaching methodology that can be borrowed or copied, as well as handouts with practical materials for classroom use, including lesson plans.
The Resource Center has a "processing place" where teachers are able to use the die cut machine or laminator to prepare their own teaching materials for classroom use. The center enables teachers to work together, exchange ideas, and establish a sense of community among elementary school English teachers.
The opening of the center was accompanied by a workshop run by Ms. Margaret Cholodecki, English Language Fellow from Warsaw.
