| The 1st of October was a very busy day at the American
Corner. Firstly, in the morning, we held a meeting with
secondary school students. Our special guests were: American
Professor, Kevin Hannan, teaching at the moment at Lodz
University and Ms Dana Szypcio. The guests were talking about
Polish immigration to the USA and Polish/American stereotypes.
Later, in the evening, we hosted another long-awaited quest from
overseas, Professor Victor Greene from University of Wisconsin.
As Prof. Greene is a specialist in Slavic, especially Polish,
ethnicity and culture in the USA, we had an opportunity
not only to listen to his lecture but also to Polka music, so
popular in States.
Both meetings had an enormous educational value not only for
students but also for the rest of Poles and Americans that
attended the meetings.
